Physiotherapy
Goyke Health Center offers a variety of health care treatments to ensure that every patients needs are met. In addition to Chiropractic Manipulation, the following treatments are offered and / or typically used during a standard visit.
Muscle Stimulation - By using small (and painless) amounts of electrical current, specific, targeted muscles are rapidly contracted and released. This relaxes the muscles and enables the adjustment to be more effective. The contraction produced by the electrical current also helps to increase the circulation of blood flow and to decrease inflammation in the area to promote healing and strengthen the muscles in the involved area.
Inter Segmental Traction - Is a bed that patients lay on while rollers within the bed move up and down the length of the spine. This massages the muscles on either side of the spine, allowing the proper range of motion for each vertebrae. Inter segmental traction is also used to improve mobility and circulation in the joints of the spine. Another advantage of inter segmental traction is that it relaxes, to help reduce tension and nervousness, as well as help the spine to heal more mobile and stronger, which helps prevent subsequent, reoccurring spinal injuries.
Ultrasound - Is a process in which deep sound waves penetrate the muscles and provide warmth and vibration. This encourages further relaxation of the muscles providing a gentle, soothing treatment.
Massage and Soft Tissue - Massage is use of the hand with a variety of techniques to stimulate or soothe soft tissues of the body for therapeutic purposes. This therapy can increase blood and lymph circulation while breaking up scar tissue between muscle fibers. Massage promotes the healing process by enhancing joint and muscle function and improving circulation.
Light Therapy - Light therapy has been cleared by the FDA for the relaxation of muscles. It is used for the temporary increase in blood circulation, temporary relief of minor muscle and joint aches, pain and stiffness of muscles and muscle spasms, pain and stiffness associated with arthritis, carpal tunnel syndrome, plantar fasciitis,TMJ and tendonitis.
